About Eddie

Overview
I’m a leadership consultant and coach working with individuals and organizations who want to grow in both their work and their lives. My approach is holistic—focusing on relationships, problem solving, and understanding the deeper patterns that shape how people and teams operate. I aim to help clients move beyond surface-level fixes and create lasting, meaningful change.
Background & Experience
My work is shaped by a diverse life across many disciplines—from farm work to recording engineering, cross-country ski coaching to mountain climbing. These experiences allow me to connect with a wide range of people and understand the realities they face in their work and lives.
At the center of this journey is my 30+ year career with the National Park Service as a park ranger. Working in some of the most iconic landscapes in the country, I served in roles focused on emergency services, search and rescue, and incident management. I led teams through both everyday operations and high-stakes situations—including natural disasters, large-scale incidents, and organizational change.
Leadership & Approach
My time in the field deeply shaped how I understand leadership. Working in dynamic and often unpredictable environments taught me how people respond under pressure—and how clarity, trust, and strong relationships make all the difference.
In addition to operational leadership, I worked as a mentor, facilitator, and educator. I became a certified instructor in multiple areas of search and rescue and risk management, and developed the ability to quickly assess complex situations and identify root causes.
I also co-founded a leadership development program for Glacier National Park, focused on preparing future leaders within the National Park Service. That experience continues to inform how I support organizations and individuals today.
Philosophy
I believe effective leadership begins with personal leadership—the ability to understand yourself while also understanding the bigger picture. It requires a willingness to go deep into relationships, systems, and underlying challenges. My role is to help people build resilience, strengthen connections, and navigate complexity with clarity and intention, in both their work and their lives.
Life Outside ... of Work
I live in the Flathead Valley of Montana, where I spend most days with my wife and daughter, often outdoors—on skis, on horseback, on the water, or in the mountains. That connection to place and to daily life continues to shape my perspective and appreciation for the work I do.
